1. Description
This workshop aims to bring together researchers who are interested in
- work-life balance
- diversity management
- equal opportunities
- family & science
- women in science
It is organized in two events. The first part Women in science is dedicated to female scientists whereas the second part Family & science is geared towards all researchers - male & female.
In the beginning of each event talks by our colleagues will address crucial factors and exemplary warning signs which intend to stimulate your reflection. The subsequent discussion sensitizes for its importance. The workshops aim to improve decision making and awareness towards work-life balance to increase health, satisfaction and productivity.
1.1 Women in science
Based on their own story female postdoctoral researchers & senior scientists will share their experiences to supply female researchers at all levels with knowledge and confidence regarding stresses and challenges. You will get the opportunity to reflect about your own position and to discuss possibilities for women in science. The following oral contributions are planned:
- Status in the MPS regarding Gender Equality by Karel Castro
- Leadership role in diversity management by Erika Kothe
- Cultural aspects & social expectations by Catarina Moura
- Impostor syndrome by Julia Marshall

This workshop gives you the opportunity to exchange with your colleagues about a healthy work life balance. Therefore, own stories about the following issues will be told:
